I do not create art of people, I create art about humanity.

The female figure is the focus of my work, because the figure is the best vehicle for representing human nature. In my work I employ a feminist critique of society to illuminate issues, which we encounter on a daily basis but few people choose to analyze on a meaningful level.

Feminism and sexuality simultaneously drive my creative process; the passion of painting and sex are one in the same. I could never paint a model that I could not be intimate with, and the level of intimacy that I have with my model has a direct impact on my work.

Yet, I do not portray women as sex objects. My work relishes not only in the beauty, but in the power of women as well and like women my paintings are more than just objects that look pretty.
