FCI Set to Stage Student Fashion Show Downtown
from Los Angeles Garment & Citizen
Fashion Careers International plans to strut its students’ best designs during a show scheduled for January 13 at the Infusion Gallery at 828 S. Main Street. The art gallery is hosting the event—which has adopted an "Early Mardi Gras" theme—in conjunction with a Downtown Art Walk being staged by various galleries in the area.
Fashion Careers International is a privately operated school located at 9th Street and Main in the Fashion District of Downtown Los Angeles. The school specializes in short-term career training, including three-month certificate programs in fashion design and fashion merchandising. Fashion Careers International also offers programs that provide free tuition for qualified low-income students between the ages of 18 and 21.
The upcoming fashion show will be the latest display of students’ work at Fashion Career International. Joe Farrell, marketing director for the school, said he’s excited about the wide range of the students’ creations.
"Among other things, there will be evening dresses, wedding dresses, menswear, contemporary womenswear and activewear," Farrell said.
Members of the local trade and the public are welcome to attend the event free of charge. For more information call: (213) 688-4936.
